# What and Why Crypto x AI

[Truth Terminal](https://x.com/truth_terminal) was first AI Agent Millionaire and one of the first AI Agents (funded by a16z’s Marc Andreessen) to adopt a token (memecoin) called GOAT in October 2024 and currently it’s valued at $500 million to&#x20;

$1 billion \[[full story by the biggest VC firm, a16z](https://youtu.be/EKspo1FLj-4?si=D_fUz6V7bkGcGV_L)]. This started a frenzy of AI Agents in Crypto and now more than $4 billion in market cap of the tokens issued/promoted by these AI Agents.<br>

# Getting Started

Let's start by setting up a basic AI agent using SendAI's Solana Agent Kit that can perform actions on the Solana blockchain and that we can chat with:

#### Install dependencies

A modern IDE is recommended for this guide. We will use [Cursor](https://www.cursor.com/) for this example which has integrated AI features and can help you with any errors you may encounter.

You will need to have [node](https://nodejs.org/en/download/) with version `23.x.x` installed. Open an empty folder using vscode or cursor and run the following command in the terminal:

This guide requires Node.js version \`23.x.x\`. Install it using \[nvm]\(<https://github.com/nvm-sh/nvm>):

#### Configure environment

Create a `.env` file in the root of the project and add the following:

Note that we encode the private key to base58 before we parse it into the solana agent constructor in the script so you can just put the byte array \[34,2,34...] here in the env file.

You can create a key using the following command:

And copy the contents into your `.env` file for `SOLANA_PRIVATE_KEY`.

The OPENAI\_API\_KEY is the key for the OpenAI API and you can find it in the [OpenAI platform](https://platform.openai.com/api-keys)

The RPC url we just leave at devnet for now.

#### Create the agent script

Create a new file called `agent.ts` with the following content:

#### &#x20;Run the agent

You can run this script using the following command:

This will start a simple chat with the agent.

\### Test basic functionality

You can now ask it to show you your solana balance and ask it to request some devnet sol:

If the devnet faucet is empty you can use the [web faucet](https://faucet.solana.com) instead and paste in your solana address.

#### Create an NFT collection

Next ask the agent:

#### &#x20;Mint an NFT

After the collection is created, mint an NFT:

This will mint you an NFT with the name Train1 and an image of a train.

You can also use any different metadata for your NFT which you can upload using [pinata](https://app.pinata.cloud/) or any other storage provider. You should end up with something like this [devnet train nft](https://explorer.solana.com/address/6dTVGn2M8LdAB6vrxzt7X8fm8HiP1QxN9j8jeh1dbyv8?cluster=devnet)

Where to go from here?

* You can now for example import the private key into your browser extension wallet to see the NFT.
* You can ask the agent to show you all your NFTs. You will notice you will get an error for this action. This is because the default action to request assets uses the Helius Asset api to request assets so for that you would need to add a [Helius API key](https://www.helius.dev/) to your `.env` file and pass it into the agent. pass it into the agent.

# The Model

Your agent is an LLM model (for e.g; chatgpt ), you provide a text, and based on its context, it gives you an outcome, based on patterns it was trained on. Choosing the model is the most important choice you have to make, as it will decide how your agent behaves, thinks, responds and takes actions. You can also chose multiple models for different part of your agent. Here are few points which may help you :&#x20;

1. GPT model - gpt models by [openai](https://openai.com/api/) are good at reasoning, they are extremely good at that, but that’s all. They are not good with anything tech, you may have noticed this while using chatgpt vs claude.
2. [Anthropic](https://www.anthropic.com) - anthropic models are best when you need to perform technical actions, there technical thinking ability is good&#x20;
3. [LLAMA](https://www.llama.com) - it’s an open source model, which powers majority of models out there --- gpt and claude are good at reasoning but because they are censored models, you can’t customize them a lot which can result in bot’sh behavior. For cheap inference, do check [Inference](https://inference.net) by Kuzco.&#x20;
4. BYOM - you can choose to bring your own model and train on cluster providers like [ionet](https://docs.io.net/) which provides gpu’s for training.&#x20;


# Giving agent a wallet

Wallets are the first thing, any agent will need to interact with things on-chain. There are a couple type of wallet to choose from, depending on use-case :&#x20;

1. Embedded Wallet - this would be better than an EOA, if your agent needs to perform action across chains, so with help of embedded wallet, you can essentially deposit funds from any supported chain and the agent can then swap to the desired chain it wants.&#x20;

You can use [Crossmint](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ssBTbaOgu2dZPxfACieBHXPx8JzwdyuqbqAawDmVXks/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.t7s6a6fxtm78) Custodial Wallet which supports Solana and 20+ evm chains.

2. PKP Wallets - these are [multisig wallets](https://github.com/LIT-Protocol/policy-AI-agent), which enable you to create non-custodial wallets for your agent, and are suitable for applications revolving around fund management. Lit Protocol provides an easy way to create/manage them.
3. EOA Wallets - these are just normal wallets, for which you’ll need to generate the private keys and keep them securely stored in your environment, this is not recommended as it’s least secure.
4. Multichain Wallets - these are non-custodial wallets for agents to interact on Solana, Ethereum, and Bitcoin (with more chains coming). [EmblemAI](https://emblemvault.ai/) enables a percentage of every transaction to be routed to agent platforms or creators, creating a built-in revenue model for human developers.


# Making the agent trade

Crypto is best at easing flow of value. Once an agent has a wallet, it makes sense to give them trading capabilities, which includes

1. Swapping / DCA Tokens - swapping = [jupiter](https://station.jup.ag/docs). you can use the jupiter apis, to make your agent swap tokens at best market rate. you can also place a DCA or limit order with help of jupiter api, [meteora](https://docs.meteora.ag/)  and [EmblemAI](https://emblemvault.ai/) can also be used to swap tokens
2. Creating LP pool - Whenever a new token is created, and the agent thinks that it can go higher, the agent can choose to create an LP position on Meteora which would help the agent earn fees and sustain its economy longer. Orca is another protocol, which an agent can choose to create an LP position. Depending upon the best market rates, agents can choose the preferred protocol.
3. Staking - staking is another way to earn rewards, agents can choose to liquid stake sol with help of jupiter/meteora/orca which will help them earn block rewards.
4. Airdropping tokens - agent can use [airship](https://airship.helius.dev) by Helius, which provides a cheap way to airdrop tokens to masses powered by zkcompression on solana


# Transaction Landing and anything onchain

Landing a transaction on the Solana network is a pain, and your agent should not cry because of this.&#x20;

1. [Jito Bundles](https://docs.jito.wtf/lowlatencytxnsend/) - if you want your transaction to land, then Jito bundles are the best way, you can bundle upto 5 transactions and send them, they’ll be executed atomically for a small tip.&#x20;
2. [Priority Fees](https://docs.helius.dev/solana-apis/priority-fee-api) - you can use Helius rpc to get the most accurate priority fee data for your transaction and use that while sending transactions via RPC increasing your landing chance by 95%. You need RPC to get anything on-chain, every provider you use would require a RPC to work, **Helius** is the best rpc you can work with, which also provides geyser plugin and enhanced websockets.

# Agent Economics

Agents utilize LLM tokens, they are like food for them, for them to sustain they need to earn more than they can spend, and hence require to maintain an economy similar to humans. We saw in the earlier part, on how there are some ways to earn rewards.

1. Paying for inference on-chain - Agents can use [Kuzco](https://kuzco.xyz), for all inference on solana and pay for usage per token with help of their wallet, agents can also run it’s own node and support the Kuzco network to earn rewards.
2. Social Value - like humans, social value for agents also matters, if a token is linked to an agent, then token price is the function of the cult/community. Frameworks like [ai16z/eliza](https://ai16z.github.io/eliza/docs/intro/) and [GOAT](https://ohmygoat.dev/introduction) by Crossmint ( integrates eliza + langchain + ai sdk ) make it a lot easier to build custom agents with help of community plugins ( for example, twitter, discord, telegram) or if you are looking for a no-code tool\
   [Assister](https://assisterr.gitbook.io/assisterr) provides a unique SML model where you can train agents on specific data sets without ever touching the code.
3. Market Analysis - agent can make market analysis using trusted oracles like [switchboard](https://docs.switchboard.xyz/docs) which can provide agent the latest on chain data, and help agent to make informed trades.&#x20;
4. Human Creator Royalties - [EmblemAI](https://emblemvault.ai/) empowers innovative human/agent collaboration by enabling a percentage of an agent’s wallet transactions to be directed back to the agent’s platform and its human creator.


# Interfaces and Channels

Agents need an interface to make it convenient for users to interact with it. Interface can be chat / 2d video / 3d video / audio and there should be a channel to find / discover / interact with these agents, like twitter / telegram / discord / slack / zoom call etc&#x20;

1. Interfaces - 3d models would be the most interactive interface, as you can control every aspect of them and essentially create a metaverse of agents. [Hologram](https://www.hologram.xyz) provides an easy to use extension where anyone can upload their own models, and enable them on platforms like zoom calls/google meets, [request for model here](https://app.deform.cc/form/6427f021-add3-464e-8ef3-93f2b5db7cd7). You can also use Hologram to enable custom voices for the agents. For chat interfaces, [ai16z/eliza](https://github.com/ai16z/eliza) is the best framework out there, enabling you to set up an agent in less than 15 minutes.  [EmblemAI](https://emblemvault.ai/) builds LLM wallets and tooling that is platform agnostic.
2. Channels - channels are platforms, where users would interact with you agent, it can be twitter / telegram / discord or any app that you can think of. eliza provides community-powered plugins which support twitter / telegram / discord as channels, you can also build your own plugins and use it, so you can integrate hologram and eliza in 1 app, and make a metaverse. # Making Verifiable Agents

There’s a huge opportunity to make verifiable agents, currently there’s no sure shot way to know if there’s a human behind the agent or not, OR if the responses are actually generated by the agent. To prove this, we can use TEE ( Trusted Execution Environment ) to proof, that wallet/social identity is completely owned by it, and any human can’t access it. # Deploying the agents
